BRIGHT BEGINNINGS

PROVIDES CHILDREN AN OPPORTUNITY TO:

* Build self-esteem by allowing each child to feel successful.

* Gain enthusiasm for learning and school.

* Develop knowledge and skills for learning.

* Learn to make good choices.

* Learn to play and work with others.

* Acquire and use language for communicating feelings, thoughts and understanding.

* Increase their understanding of the world and things within it.

* Learn to feel confident and be independent.

 

PROVIDES PARENTS AN OPPORTUNITY TO:

* Understand the importance as their child's first and most important teacher.

* Learn more about their child's development.

* Participate in the program through: classroom visits, accompanying us on field trips or assisting in classroom projects.

* Check out books and videos about parenting issues from the Parent Resource Library.

* Meet other parents of young children.

 

GENERAL INFORMATION

-- Half day sessions

--FREE of charge to eligible children

--Children must be three or four years old by September 1

--Bright Beginnings serves children within the Princeton Elementary School District 115

--Funded by the Illinois State Board of Education

--Hands-on developmentally appropriate curriculum

--Busing available to students who meet district transportation guidelines
